Dehradun, a vibrant city known for its scenic beauty and cultural heritage, has taken a substantial leap into the future. The municipal corporation of Dehradun has inaugurated a high-tech Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), aimed at enhancing the surveillance and monitoring of the city’s cleanliness and safety. The Inauguration Ceremony

The ICCC was inaugurated on Friday by Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal and Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal. During the ceremony, it was emphasized that the center would not only oversee waste collection but also monitor 54 strategically placed CCTV cameras across the city. These cameras will play a crucial role in identifying individuals who litter in public spaces. Swift actions, including fines, will be enacted against offenders caught on camera.

Revolutionizing Waste Management

Prior to this initiative, monitoring of cleaning activities was carried out through different teams and disjointed efforts. The ICCC is designed to consolidate these efforts into one comprehensive platform through which all activities related to waste management, fogging operations, and emergency response can be monitored effectively. By categorizing the city into three groups—43, 26, and 25 wards—different companies were tasked with cleanliness, which turned out to be inefficient. This new method seeks to eliminate such inefficiencies and foster a unified approach.
